Tappit Hoose's Distillery Tour of Fife

When there's a chill in the air we all need a wee nip of something to warm the cockles, and now you can get an education while you're at it. Fife has a wealth of distilleries to choose from and Tappit Hoose is the ideal place to base your tour from.

While working as a golf caddie at neighbouring Kingsbarns Golf Links, it was Douglas Clement's vision that first inspired the idea for a distillery at Kingsbarns. His determined belief in the project and an unfettered passion for single malt whisky has been instrumental in bringing the dream to life.

Take a tour of the distillery with one of the highly knowlegeble staff, have a delicious cup of coffee and cake before taking away a wee memento from the very well stocked whisky shop.

Lindores Abbey’s widely recognised links to the earliest written reference to Scotch Whisky, mean that people have been travelling to this quiet corner of Fife for centuries. After a 500-year break, these whisky pilgrims will finally be able to see Single Malt distillation happening once again on this historic site.

In 2012, Eden Mill resurrected this fine brewing and spirits tradition with our own take on Scottish craft brewing and distilling. Eden Mill were Scotland's first single site brewery and distillery – we benefit from the best of local water sources, regionally grown barley and a dynamic, international team with some of the best education and experience the world can offer. Our distillers are at the forefront of experimental wood ageing and distillation methods to bring out more of the outstanding flavours found in our products.

We know our beer, gin and whisky will stand the test of time and do the tradition of St Andrews brewing and distilling proud.
